The Friends in Wales The Friends are extremely active in Wales where we own half of our churches. Since 1999 we have been recognised as the equivalent in Wales of the Churches Conservation Trust (the remit of which covers England only). We are thus paid 100% of the costs of taking outstanding Anglican churches in Wales into care. This is met in the proportions 70% from the State (via Cadw) and 30% from the Church in Wales. We expect to take two or three more Welsh examples each year indefinitely and look forward to welcoming more members in Wales. Click here to see Welsh churches owned by the Friends.
